The physical properties
1050 aluminium sheets have low density. It’s about 2.71kg/m³. And the melting point is 650℃. At the same time, 1050 aluminium has good thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity. For your reference, its thermal conductivity is 222W/m.K.
The mechanical properties
There are laboratory in our company for checking the quality including the mechanical properties. Generally, under 1050 h14 condition, the proof stress is about 85 MPa. And the tensile strength is 100 MPa.
The fabrication
In a general way, the 1050 aluminum has excellent weldability. Thus, it is applicable for you to use gar welding and arc welding methods for processing 1050 aluminium. While its machinability is poor.
Why 1060 aluminum sheets are similar with aluminium grade 1050 plate?
Both 1050 and 1060 aluminum sheet are typical aluminum plates among our 1000 series aluminum sheets. These two aluminum sheets are similar. Many customers uses them for same applications. Generally, you can use 1060 aluminum sheets for replacing 1050 aluminium. Here are some reasons for to know it better.
- Both 1050 and 1060 are pure aluminum. Their aluminum contents are above 99%. The differences between them is that 1060 aluminum sheets has more aluminum content than 1050 grade aluminum sheets. 1050 aluminum has 99.5 percent aluminum, while the 1060 is about 99.6 percent.
- The 1050 aluminum sheets has similar physical properties with 1060 aluminum. They have low density, good corrosion resistance, excellent plasticity, etc.
- Because of the similar chemical content and physical features, both of them are applicable for some applications, which has high requirements on forming ability and corrosion resistance.
